Our SP1 stereo vision sensor supports 17 different camera models from 3 different camera manufacturers. This large selection is great for fine-tuning your system setup such that it best fits your use case. Particularly during early development stages, however, many customers desire a solution that requires minimal efforts until the first depth measurements are available.
To satisfy this need we have been offering various mounting plates, which simplify and speed-up the setup of a stereo camera pair. Today we are making the camera set-up even easier, by introducing Karmin, our new pre-assembled stereo camera.
Karmin integrates two Basler dart camera modules, for which we recently added support to the SP1. The camera modules are housed in a sturdy aluminum frame, which ensures that Karmin will keep its calibration even when experiencing mechanical stresses.
Karmin comes in three different baseline distances: 10 cm, 15 cm and 25 cm. For each version, a choice of two different camera modules is available: one suitable for depth sensing with resolution 640 x 480 pixels at 30 fps, and one suitable for resolution 800 x 592 at 20 fps, when used in combination with the SP1. This configurability makes Karmin a versatile sensor that can be used for many different 3D sensing applications.
